The restaurant industry was one of the first victims of the Coronavirus shutdowns. However, in the midst of the crisis, you can still find interesting, tasty, and attractive gastronomic proposals if you know where to look.
Fortunately, we know where to look.
Let’s talk about SharpShooter Pit and Grill, the best BBQ restaurant in St. Louis.
Bang Good Barbecue!
Sharpshooters Pit and Grill is a top-of-the-line barbeque restaurant located inside of the all-new, state of the art St. Louis SharpShooter shooting range, the area’s premier training academy and education institution in all firearms-related training.
This newest and largest world-class indoor shooting range has a lot of things going for it, but I can honestly say, with a shred of doubt, that the main draw of Sharpshooters is the on-site smoked brisket and turkey offerings.
Smoked daily, with a new batch cooked to perfection every single day. Sharpshooters Pit and Grill closes when they run out of food. And with food as tasty as theirs, and prices as friendly as theirs, some days they sell out fast!
Their baby-back rib platters are super generous and super tasty. Ribs are cooked to fall-off-the-bone perfection and smothered in a deliciously tangy sauce that is made with just the right amount of spice. This is home-made quality, Sunday BBQ dinner style goodness.
The Pit and Grill also offers a fantastic array of smoked sandwiches. Served on a buttery soft bun, with a side of your choice of baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, green beans, or applesauce, these sandwiches are oh-so-good delicious.
Whether you go for the classic slow-cooked pulled pork, the smoked tender brisket, or smoked turkey, you’ll be rewarded with an honest to goodness best in category sandwich.
There is also a smoked BLT on the menu, which I’ve yet to try, but can predict will be delicious as well.
For those looking for a leaner option, there are two salad choices and they are both equally delicious. There is the standard fresh green salad, and my favorite, the smoked meat salad which includes fresh lettuce, tomato, and the choice of your favorite smoked meat.
I almost forgot to mention the wings and nachos. Any self-respecting BBQ restaurant will have specialty wings and nacho to round out the menu, and the Sharpshooters Pit and Grill do not disappoint in this regard.
I thank goodness every day that Sharpshooters are still operating during the COVID-19 outbreak, albeit with limited hours. Also important to mention that, like most restaurants open at this time, they are also limited to curbside or carry-out service only.
